Ubuntu 10.10 installed onto AOA110 acer will not proceed past bios screen
 
Can anyone help solve why ubuntu netbook edition will not proceed past the bios check on my aa1. I have flashed the bios to the latest version (successfully), and still only see a black screen and flashing cursor.

Installed from an external dvd which ran the installation and rebooted but never started up ubuntu.

What do you have your BIOS to boot from first? And can you verify you install a bootloader (grub)?

Bios booting from the SSD first. I installed from an ISO which i burned to a dvd and let the installer take care of everything assuming the installer would do it all.

Have you tried booting up a live cd and seeing if it installed properly? If not, I recommend it just to be safe, plus you can go it and reinstall grub if that is the root of the cause.
