Ubuntu 10.04 installation:never reached 100%

Hi. I already have iso on a cd, and i'm trying to install it. First steps worked, but when it reaches the 7th step, it never reached 100%,the 'installation complete' never appeared, only the violent background appears. My laptop is a Gateway MT6728.

Please help me. Thank you

Welcome to LQ

What is the 7th step ?
Make sure the md5 checksum from the iso is correct.
Try to burn the iso again at a lower speed.

Kind regards
