two independant monitor on one box
I plugged a second monitor to my desktop and am now running with xinerama.

It looks great but i would like to switch between two screens and one screen desktop and run xfree on the first while using console on the second, using some keys to switch between one to the other.

I wasn't able to find any documentation anywhere to help me, so any sugestion will be greatly appreciated

There are keystrokes to change from terminal to x on one screen... did you want two monitors so one has x gui and the other a terminal???
you prolly already know the ctrl+alt+F2 for a terminal and ctrl+alt+F7 for the xwindows...

yes, i know ctrl-alt-Fx...

For now, my computer start on screen 2, then xserver start on screen 1while screen 2 become black. I would like to keep tty on screen 2 while using xfree on screen 1.

The real problem is to use only one keyboard....

I don't know what it's called, but there is a little switching device you can hook up in between your monitors and keyboard (or is it keyboard and cpu?) and it costs like $35. (US dollars). You hit a toggle switch when you want the output to go to one monitor or the other.
There might be a code for this too because in linux what you type is "printed" to the standard output (monitor1). In linux books about error messages, they say ways to change where the standard output is, and that might be a code way to solve the problem.
But the switching machine is easier :) Anyone else out there know what I mean and know the name of it??
