Trying to get LiveUSB of Parabola to boot on a 2009 MacBook Pro

Hi,

Has anyone else had issues getting a LiveUSB image of Parabola to boot in a Mac environment? I've been able to do it with Slackware and Mint, but can't get a LiveUSB of Parabola (copy-lefted Arch) to boot. I've done the exact same things as the other two distros: create USB stick with "dd", and hit the Option key on boot to choose what to boot from. No dice. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

After downloading the Parabola iso file, did you do an md5 checksum to verify the iso?
You indicate you are using a Mac but not whether you have some Apple OS currently installed/in use?
Is this an EFI bootable machine?
Did you read through the detailed Beginners Guide for Parabola, with particular attention to the section on UEFI/GPT if that is what you are using?
