LinuxQuestions.org - Trying to dump MS all together, but have one hang-up... No color s video output.

Hello, everyone this is my first post anywhere so please forgive my ignorance if I break etiquette or protocol.

I'm running a duel boot system with Ubuntu 10.04 on my "real" partition on a Toshiba Satellite A215-S5837.

My problem is Ubuntu outputs s video to my TV (NTSC) in black and white only from my Radion X1200 card. Everything else works properly (including the VGA output to my desktop monitor). This is a real problem since I watch a lot of Hulu and this is the only output that will work with my old TV. I know the TV, cable,and the hardware work because when I output s video in Windows 7 partition it's in color.

Originally I installed Ubuntu 9.10 64bit and there was absolutely no output of s video. Then I updated it to Ubuntu 10.04 64bit only to be stuck with the current problem.

I've been working on this problem for the last two months, at times, just giving up. I've read many forms looking for the fix but still nothing. First fix attempt was to download the proprietary driver that wasn't quit compatible with my driver (was lead to believe it might). When I open the Administration window and search for hardware drivers none are detected (probably because it's integrated). Finally, went-into the xorg.conf file and tried adding some options that didn't work. This is what it looks like set back to default.

Under the "Monitors" window is does show two devices, "Laptop" and "Unknown".

I humbly come before you as a new Linux man, and ask for your help. If I can get this to work I can have a 100% Linux setup.
