Tp R31 Acpi

I own a Thinkpad R31 and I've been trying to get ACPI working. I believe I already fixed the DSDT table successfully, but after patching and recompiling the kernel, the laptop does not boot. I believe I am patching the kernel incorrectly. Could anyone provide me a patch? I am 2.4.21 kernel release. I'd appreciate any help.
