Touchscreen on HP tablet
I would like to get my touchscreen to work on my hp tx1320. I used a suggested howto from Ubuntu forums (running hardy amd-64) but it was difficult to follow as it was in German. Even running the translator from Dictionary.com (recommended!) I must have made a mistake somewhere because the touchscreen became semi-active but I lost sound. Any suggestions? And please be as detailed as possible. I'm still somewhat of a noob.
after posting, just had this idea: the wifi driver had to be done special with ndiswrapper and extracting the firmware (?). Would a similar operation work for the touchscreen? Presuming, of course, that I could find what type of touchscreen it is, driver and such... (I looked on HP's site and couldn't find what the touchscreen was. Pretty sure it isn't Wacom.) |
what do you mean by "semi-active" and the sound problem is most likely from you rebuilding your kernel but not your modules, or changing something in the kernel, or even using a new kernel and not configuring your sound properly.
anyhow read this http://tldp.org/HOWTO/XFree86-Touch-Screen-HOWTO.html and this http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/li.../l-playscreen/ |
semi-active
I could touch the screen with the stylus and a window would become active, but it was very unreliable, sometimes working and sometimes not.
