Touchpad won't tap-click
I am running Fedora Core 2 on an HP laptop. Tap-clicking on my touchpad doesn't seem to work (altho it works fine with Knoppix). I was told to look at Qsynaptics and it looks like it may help but i have a few questions.
What is X11? Do i have it/need it? Do i need to install the synaptics driver first? |
X11 is the server on which your graphical apps run. If you have KDE or GNOME installed, then you also already have X11 installed; specifically, since you use FC2, you most likely have an X11 server from x.org - the packages will be called xorg-*
Take a look at the tuxmobil site for more info on touchpads! http://tuxmobil.org/ HTH, Samsara |
What exact laptop model do you have? If you have an ALPS touchpad (as on the HP nx9105 and Compaq R3xx series) you will need to apply a kernel patch from the Synaptics driver package.
