Touch pad not working

hi!

I am pretty new.. and I might be silly.. sorry for that..

The situation is: I wanted to use a USB mouse, and when I tried to do so..after some luck I got it working. But the problem is my touch pad is not working under linux even if I restart the computer without the usb mouse

is there anyway to make my touch pad work or both devices work simultaneously.
Details:

Suse 8.0
Acer Travelmate PIV M 2ghz

thanks in advance!!

yes it's possible. edit /etc/X11/XF86Config and define both pointers there, then adjust your server layout, typically at the bottom of the file, to use both pointers. then restart X. there's quite possbly a pretty, GUI way to do this, but i wouldn't know.
