Toshiba touchpad and keyboard issue

Hi,

I've been searching for hours now to find a solution but no luck. Im using a toshiba m30 notebook w/ slack 9.1 and i just upgraded to the 2.6.1 kernel. The problem is that after I move the mouse w/ my touchpad my keyboard chokes up and delays for a few seconds before spitting out everything, sometime repeating a letter many times. This happens everytime my thumb just slighlty hits the touchpad when typing and does not occur at all when i use my usb mouse. I tried using both the generic driver and the synaptics touchpad driver but neither fix the problem. The problem isn't only in X it occurs before i even start X. In the old 2.4.22 kernel everything worked perfectly with the generic driver. Anyone else have the same problem or know what to do? This is really annoying.

Hi.

I had a same same problem as you.
I use toshibaM30 with redhat9.
I installed tpconfig touchpad driver..get from

http://compass.com/synaptics/

and it works good.

BTW, I have another problems..
1. Did you solved tha problem of battery monitor?
Even if I installed apmd and acpi, kernel doesn't recognized them...

2. Brightness of monitor..
How did you adjust this?

3. Toshiba function keys....well...:(

Someone told me to comment out some stuff in psmouse-base.c and that seemed to fix the problem with the touchpad. The latest 2.6.3 supports the toshiba_acpi functions so the screen brightness works fine. I also installed fnfx to get the function keys working. All the acpi battery fucntions seem to work fine. i didn't compile the kernel with apm.
