Toshiba Satellite A305 trackpad not working.

I'm having trouble with the trackpad on Toshiba Satellite A305, under Ubuntu 9.10.

The trackpad works when I boot the live CD, and it worked the first time I installed to HD... I installed bad video drivers and had to re-install, and now the trackpad isn't working: I move my finger on the trackpad, but the pointer does not move, neither button on the trackpad responds.

Not sure what to try next, whatever it is will have to be done through the console.

I re-installed the OS, that took care of the problem. I usually like to figure these things out, but I wanted to get the laptop up and running; since it was an initial install, I wasn't out anything except the 30 minutes worth of installation time... besides which, it seems like this was a intermittent issue per run of the installer, which I knew would be hell to track down.

So... if you're installing Ubuntu 9.10 on a Toshiba Satellite A305, and run in to this problem, start a new thread, then let me know. I'm still somewhat interested in making sure that this works.
