Toshiba Equium L300-146 VISTA

Hi,

one of my friend has a Toshiba Equium L300-146 Laptop. he was happy when he saw the vista which is full of graphics but help less. he wanted to install some softwares on it but I think vista doesn't like them at all.

well he asked i tried my Linux to install over the vista and make it dual booting system. but what happens is that when I get to the manully disk druid I am said that no hard is found.

I tried the same with windows xp professional no hard drive found. what i think is that vista doesn't like to go at all. please suggest me how to get rid of vista. and install linux or xp professional.

thanks in advance

try a live-usb distro and see if you can mount the hard drive

well thanks for all

Its needs setting from BIOS to enable IDE controller to compaitibility.

and then you can install any OS.

thanks

Hi,
I have a Toshiba Satellite L300-1AM and I could install Linux distro's and win Vista with AHCI option enabled without problem. Linux kernel recognized hardware very easy. Not like winXP, where I had to enable the IDE controler to "compatible" because of sata drivers. So you can try to install it with AHCI option enabled.

Good luck
