Tm-230 Pcmcia

Hey everyone,

I have just installed RedHat 8.0 on my acer TM230 laptop but the system halts during boot up with the following error message.

Starting PCMCIA: PCI: No IRQ known for interrupt pin A of device 02:09.0. please try using pci=biosirq

Can anyone give me some ideas as to how to fix this?

no irq found at boot time

I got the same problem with the same system, i have tried pci=biosirq at boot time => nop!
Apparently there is a place in the bios where you can set PnP OS to no but can't find it.
Kind of stuck me too
Search the web for answers but nothing seems to fit our case

I don't know what causes it, but after i sent my laptop back because the speakers where playing up i now have no problems installing Linux... so this leads me to think that the problem is with the motherboard because that is what got replaced when i sent it back

It was probably a hardware incompatibility with the pci card which is manage by the motherboard?? I'm not to much of a hardware guy but it make sense. Apparently its a big problem cause I can't find any solution on the web. I think i'll install the new mandrake 10.0 or debian instead, that should be ok, with the 2.6 kernel of mandrake.
