Thinkpad R40 supports 1024x768 in Gnome but not KDE?

For some reason, on my previous install of FC3 on a Thinkpad R40 w/ATI M6 16mb, I was able to set the monitor to LCD Generic 1024x768, and the display would work fine, but with this new install with KDE, I can't do it. it wraps the display around, and it messed up the lower 1/4 of the screen. Is there a driver I'm missing, or what? I know it's stupid, but I'm not sure which monitor I have either. I think it's the 14.1. It's fairly large, but I'm pretty sure it's not a 15".

I'm really hatin' this 800x600 and it's Pre-Skool sized icons. Can anyone assist?

Thanks!!!

OK. Maybe I'm just stupid.. can you guys handle more noob posts from me? :-)

So, in addition to configuring the actual screen adapter (Generic LCD 1024x768), you must set System Settings/Display to 1024x768. THEN you can use the Screen Resize & Rotate tool to change the working resolution to 1024x768. If the adapter AND the Display option is not set BEFORE the Screen Resize & Rotate tool, then the display will be messed up.

Perhaps this will help future users....
