ThinkPad 600's soundcard and Fedora

Hi guys!
I just bought an IBM Thinkpad 600 (good old stuff) and installed Fedora Core 1.
I'm new to Laptop-under-Linux and I was surprised how everything went so well except for a little thing: I can't get the soundcard working.
My relationship with Linux is mainly server-setup with Debian so I'm not very into multimedia stuff.
Do anyone have a solution?

Try modprobing the snd-cs4236 driver. It works with the 600E's CS4237B chip.

modprobe snd-cs4236 port=0x530 cport=0x538 isapnp=0 dma1=1 dma2=0 irq=5 and see if that loads the module. If it does you need to use amixer or any other Alsamixer to unmute the master and PCM channels.

If all this works you should be able to put the above command in your rc.local startup file...at least I think that's what is used on Fedora/Redhat.
