newbies should choose easier methods .

In my location, we can get laptops without Windows pre-installed. In this case we can get laptops with either FreeDOS or Linux, or simply no OS at all. This is what I have done, I have a very basic HP notebook that I got in ~$270 (based on current exchange rate), with FreeDOS and I promptly made this into a Linux notebook. My HP notebook will not set any benchmarks on fire but it fully capable of playing many games (Games that can play in Dual core 2 GHz processor, 4GB RAM, and 256 MB VRAM). And, you will be surprised with the number of games that support this configuration (My Steam + GOG games now add to more than 100 titles).
Again, for a proper gaming laptop, get at least a ~2.5 GHz processor, 8GB RAM, and 2 GB VRAM configuration.

Based on your location, you may not come across such situation (i.e. No pre-installed Windows). In this case, I would suggest to get the laptop from a Linux Hardware Vendor. A recent article on the Dedoimedo website praised the Slimbook (https://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/...pro2-here.html). There are of course many other Linux Hardware Vendors, like System76 (https://system76.com/), Entroware (https://www.entroware.com/store/), and others. A good listing is present at https://www.cyberciti.biz/hardware/l...-or-preloaded/

Also see https://linuxpreloaded.com/ for a list of vendors who sell computers with Linux preloaded.
