Tablet pc keyboard problems.

Greetings.
I have an HP TC1100 tablet pc. I've got various distros installed on it but am having a problem with the keyboard under Mandriva. When it boots up the keys on the keyboard that have double functions are all set to their secondary function. This means I have to hold down the Fn key all the time when typing.
If I activate Gome keyboard and set "sticky keys" I can then press 2 keys together and a dialogue box appears asking me if I want to de-activaye sticky keys, if I say yes the keyboard returns to normal until I log out.
Ideally I would like the keys to work as normal from the outset. Is there some option somewhere controlling this?

Thanks.
