Question System Freezes on logout

I just installed Mandrake 9.1 on to my laptop. Got the system up and running but for some reason when I log out of my account, the system goes to a black screen and hangs. Anyone had this problem before? Its not real bad, as I just reboot the machine and can log in as a different account. Any help would be great.
