Synaptics TouchPad sometimes works,sometimes not

I have ASUS notebook (A6S50K,I think),and Synaptics Touchpad v6.1 on it. I am using Slackware 11.0 with 2.4.33.3 kernel.

This is my problem: touchpad works great when I connect USB mouse. When Slack boots,I connect USB mouse, hit 'startx' and everything works fine.No problems with touchpad in X.
But,when I disconnect mouse, and then try 'startx', the X crashes.

I have found this website: http://web.telia.com/~u89404340/touchpad/, and downloaded the driver and followed all instructions for installation and setting. I don't know what else to do.

These are the links where I posted my xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log:

Can someone help me?
Thanks to all!!

InputDevice "Mouse1" "CorePointer"
is what makes your USB mouse needed to run X. Change it to "Synaptics".
