Suspend on T23

Im running Suse 9.2, and kinda new to linux. Every time i tell it to suspend it goes to the black & white screen and starts doing its thing. After a few seconds though it just stops and sits there, forever. So i was wondering if there is any way to have my T23 suspend and come back, to avoid the long boot.

Any help appreciated.

Here, just follow the following instructions (all done in a terminal) and you'll be suspending and resuming in notime.

Suspend and Resume
sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst
add: "acpi=off apm=on" to kernel line (no quotes)
sudo gedit /etc/modules
add: "apm" to list (no quotes)

Then, getting sound to work after u resume from a suspend:

Sound After Resume
sudo /etc/init.d/alsa-conf restart
