Question suse10 on a 64bit architecture compaq laptop

I use a compaq presario R4000. I installed suse10 dvd version. No problem. Right now I have issues with my touchpad. It can't drag and drop. It has flaws. It scrolls when it feels like. It's driving me crazy. Anyone out there that can help?

You can disable the click feature of your touchpad but still use it to move the cursor if that would help you: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...mouse+touchpad tells you how (first post: maxtaptime maxtapmove). Post back if you don't understand how to do this.

I saw strange things going on with the touchpad on my Compaq presario V2000, but I realized it was my doing -- touching the right and bottom edge of the touchpad is kinda like touching the vertical and horizontal scroll bars in a window. So as long as I avoid those edges, everything works as I expect. Don't know if that is what is happening to you, but my touchpad and I get along much better now that I figured that out.

That did not help. I still have difficulty in dragging and dropping, I also have problem with highlighting. The mouse responds whenever it feels like it.
