Lots of linux distros can be installed on laptops... but you seem to be going about it the wrong way. You don't need to download a dos iso (I honestly hope you're not referring to MS-DOS here!), and I'd avoid pulling the plug when it's trying to resize partitions.
Just download a SUSE iso, burn it to a disc, put it in your drive, reboot and install it (choosing to turn your whole drive into a single linux partition). And please, be patient and don't go pulling the plug when it's doing important stuff!
Also, if you want anybody to help you, it's quite necessary to write down the error messages that you receive. Just keep a pen and paper beside your computer as you're doing it. If you don't, I wouldn't expect anybody to magically guess which problems you're encountering.
