Question SuSe 9.0 sound on acer aspire 1700

Currently testing Suse 9.0 Professional on acer aspire 1700 laptop everything seems to be working fine except for the Sound, we can play cd roms but the system sound does not work please help us ayone !!

What sound controller does it have? "lspci -v | grep -i 'audio'" as root from an xterm will tell you.

It took me also some time, but in my case ( Fedora core 3), I had to go to volume control and uncheck the mute checkboxes.

Maybe this is also the case with your system
