Give use the spec off chip set of the wireless.
Did the home/partition exist or not ?
Is it created during install ?

Broadcom is not the chip set so we still in the dark
Searching the net I found that only for 802.11 B/G family wireless chips are open source drivers

As far as home if you use yast>system>partitioner than it should show home as LInux native under mount
/home
I know when you start partitioner it come with a warning
If the mount point is not home you can change it here by editing the home line
