Question SUSE 10.0 on Gateway MX6214 w/Broadcom chipset

I want to install SUSE 10.0 on my Gateway MX6214 laptop, but the installer hangs. I'm currently running XP, and I want to break the Windows habit. I know it will run a GNU/Linux system because I also have Knoppix 5.0. Aside from that, I was also curious to know whether or not I'd need ndiswrapper, and how to install and configure it if needs be. Thanks!

try 10.3, it's much newer and perhaps has some more hardware included, running better on an old laptop

secondly, try the option noacpi or noapic when the first install screen shows up... perhaps there is a problem with acpi....
