Question Strange LCD issue on a Sony PCG-450

First of all this is a great message board, people here seem to be very helpful and I've been able to resolve a few issues by reading previous posts.

I've just installed Redhat 9 on a sony pcg-450. It probed the neomagic video card correctly. Now for the monitor its automatically selected the defualt monitor. Being for some reason it couldn't probe the LCD. Well after RH finsihed it's installation I went into the xwindows system to setup the monitor. Well for some reason it will not allow me to select another monitor or probe for one. The probe option is grayed out and I can highlight other monitors but it won't select them....

any ideas?
