Could you run
this script and post the link? I'd like to see your alsa configuration. It is possible that your system simply hasn't been added to the alsa driver yet. It's hard for us developers to keep up.
The Intel HD Audio is more of a bus specification than an actual device. On that bus, there is usually a sound chip, and in laptops, a modem (soft modem). There are currently 5 major manufacturers of sound chips for this bus, and each manufacturer has multiple chips. To make it even more confusing, each system manufacturer (Acer in your case) can add the same chip to all of their different motherboards, and each board will require a different configuration. For example, Intel released 20 motherboards with the exact same audio chip and the exact same configuration, but each has a different identification (pci subsystem ID). More work for us.
