sound hotkeys Asus c90s - works only for root

Hey I'm having this problem tonight:

Hotkeys for sound up/down/on/off (Fn+F11/F12/F10) work without problems on root account, but for any non-root user I only get volume bar with 0% and nothing is changing.

Just in case - I have sound for non-root users but can change volume only by using Mixer, and other hotkeys like LCD on/off work without problems.

Thanks for help

Welcome to Linux Questions!!

This is almost certainly a permissions issue somewhere.

Make sure your users have the audio group listed in there groups.
