Sony Vaio PCG-R505TS screen resolution problem with debian

I can't get my screen resolution to change. The only option I have is 640x480, even after trying dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86. I'm not sure what to try. I can post any config files or whatnot. Also, the scrollwheel on the touchpad isn't responding, so I think it's just an issue with the conf file for xf86.

Any help is appreciated.

EDIT: Fixed by copying the config from http://www.returntonature.com/linux/laptop/
