Sony Clie under Debian with visor module.
Hello,
I understand this has already been asked here, but it was not answered. I'm trying to get my PDA (Sony Clie) installed. I have read like 5 tutorials and guides on how to do this, and they all say you need 2 modules. usbserial.o and visor.o So I downloaded and installed those (with difficulty). Then all the guides say that when I type "lsmod" I should see something like this: visor 10208 1 usbserial 17024 0 [visor] Instead I get this: visor 10208 1 [unused] usbserial 17024 0 [visor] How could it be unused? I got my PDA plugged in and ready to sync, but visor is not recognizing it. Is there something I can do to fix this? Thanks. |
I've also tried complete reinstalling the modules, and still get the lame thing.
Help? |
I have a Clie SJ30 and it works fantastically... As far as I remember, all I did was
(1) make sure the modules were being loaded in my /etc/rc.d/rc.modules script. (I think you also need a module called usbhci or something like that... I'll check it later and post back tomorrow if I'm wrong) (2) removed the /dev/pilot link which was pointing to the wrong device and replaced it with a new /dev/pilot pointing to /dev/ttyUSB0. (3) made sure I had the pilot-link suite installed. (4) installed JPilot to make it easy on myself. Now, whenever I want to hotsync or install a prc, I start JPilot, hit the hotsync button on my Clie, press the Sync button in JPilot and away she goes. Getting access to the memory stick is a piece of cake too... |
