Sleep and Hibernate on a New Dell D620

Hey guys,

Anybody have any issues with sleep or Hibernate, sometimes when I close my laptop it will go int sleep mode and shut down but most of the times it just stays on and drains the batteries.

I am running a Latitude D620 with Dual Core, with Mandriva installed and XP in dual boot.

Thanks

Ed.

Well, I doubt this is much help, but my D620 sleeps just fine. I never use hibernate, but sleep works well, both from the power manager and by closing the lid of the laptop. I did have to add the wireless module to the ACPI config. (This is using Ubuntu Feisty Fawn)

Now, if only I could get my battery to report capacities again... though that's a hardware thing.

Matir -

I'm running a D620 with Feisty, and I've had zero luck getting it to resume from suspend, although hibernation has worked fine and battery capacity seems to be reported all right.

Can you tell me if you had to do anything to get suspend to work?
Which display driver are you using?

Suspend worked out of the box on Feisty. Under edgy (my initial install) it took a little tweaking, but only to get networking working properly on resume.

I'm using the i810 driver on mine.
