I've installed Slackware 9 on my IBM Thinkpad R31, everything seems fine until I startx into any Xwindow
the screen just keeps on flickering. I found on an earlier post that the horizontal refresh and vertical refresh needed to be changed which i have done. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Well I just did this the other day and I don't have the info on hand to tell you the refresh rates needed and the video card to select. I have 75 of these at the school I work at and I can get you the info if you need it but your gonna have to email me, and I'll shoot you one back when I'm at home with the notebook in front of me.
Thanks for the welcome. I have looked at the Laptop site here on LQ, but i haven't found anything that could help me so far. I had something close to the same issue on my home pc and I changed the resolution etc and it seemed to work... any other suggestion would be appreciated
Sounds like Luke will we your best source for information, if he's already got them running get him to send you a copy of his xf86config file to compare to your own.
