As for #1, just edit /etc/inittab and set the default runlevel to 4.
For #3, did you try to run alsamixer and unmute the main channel? I often times have to unmute that channel and turn up the volume after installs. To save your settings, just run the command (as root) alsactl store.
Thanks .. I ve make it done the startup of desktop ....
CAn anyone help me on on How to connect to Network .. I think my Network card also cant able to detect by slackware linux ..
hi there,
i think you need to install ipw2100 modules in your system. are you using the slackware vanilla kernel?
do you have wireless tools installed?
regards,
slackie1000
hi there,
about the usb and sound i think it is related to the new kernel that you are using.
afaik, slackware is still built under 2.4.XX kernel series.
if you intend to use alsa and other things you need to "adapt" it to your kernel 2.6.XX.
where did you get ipw2100 module? how the file is called? is it the source code?
i don't want to sound rude but maybe you should try another distro. slackware needs a bit of knowledge to be usable.
regards,
slackie1000
