sierra wireless aircard 850 on RHEL 5.2 lenovo w500

Hi All,

I am trying to configure the mention card with no success, after searching google and this forum, i install the manfc. driver firmware in /lib/firmware:
SW_7xx_SER.cis, SW_8xx_SER.cis
and the output of pccardctl info:
PRODID_1="Sierra Wireless"
PRODID_2="AC850"
PRODID_3="3G Network Adapter"
PRODID_4="R1"
MANFID=0192,0710
FUNCID=6

and in dmesg:
pccard: PCMCIA card inserted into slot 0
cs: memory probe 0x0c0000-0x0fffff: excluding 0xc0000-0xd3fff 0xdc000-0xfffff
cs: memory probe 0x60000000-0x60ffffff: excluding 0x60000000-0x60ffffff
cs: memory probe 0xa0000000-0xa0ffffff: clean.
cs: memory probe 0xf0000000-0xf3ffffff: excluding 0xf0000000-0xf3ffffff
cs: memory probe 0xf4300000-0xf7ffffff: excluding 0xf4300000-0xf46cffff 0xf4e70000-0xf523ffff 0xf5db0000-0xf7ffffff
pcmcia: registering new device pcmcia0.0
pcmcia: request for exclusive IRQ could not be fulfilled.
pcmcia: the driver needs updating to supported shared IRQ lines.

when i run wvdialconf create i get this:
Scanning your serial ports for a modem.

ttyS0<*1>: ATQ0 V1 E1 -- failed with 2400 baud, next try: 9600 baud
ttyS0<*1>: ATQ0 V1 E1 -- failed with 9600 baud, next try: 115200 baud
ttyS0<*1>: ATQ0 V1 E1 -- and failed too at 115200, giving up.
Port Scan<*1>: S1 S2 S3

Sorry, no modem was detected! Is it in use by another program?

for some reason there is not ttyS created for the modem.

when i do lspcmcia:
Socket 0 Bridge: [yenta_cardbus] (bus ID: 0000:15:00.0)
Socket 0 Device 0: [serial_cs] (bus ID: 0.0)

so i think the driver is loaded.

in /etc/pcmcia/config.opts i dont know what to add if i need to?

how to continue? any idea will be much welcome.

1000 thanks in advance

E.
