Shutdown.....but it restart
 

Hi all,

I installed Debian Sarge 3.1 on my Aopen 1545 laptop (Pentium 4M 2 Ghz, 1GB RAM, 40 GB HD, Nvidia geforce 2 go, Ali System Bus), it seems works properly after I rebuild the kernel (2.6.9). When I shutdown, it do all the steps correctly, it correctly shutdown but after a second it restart as like as I press the power button! :confused:

How can I do?

Why are you rebuilding a 2.6.9 kernel?

Download the 2.6.12.2 and try. I think there was some bug regarding power (I am not sure) Upgrading to 2.6.12.2 current version and see.

I'm not able to download kernel 2.6.12 because I havn't an adsl connection....I tried with a 2.6.11.7 kernel....but nothing solved.

I think that the problem is not in the kernel but in some module that is not properly configure.....
Most of the distro that I nstall gives me this problem.....Only UBUNTU Hoary and Slackware 10.1 work properly.
