setting up sound on a Toshiba Satellite Pro M10 running Debian 3.1

Hi All,

I am trying to set up my sound card on my laptop (Toshiba Satellite Pro M10) and am failing miserably. As it stands, I have to my knowledge installed and configured ALSA (I'm using a 2.4.27 kernel) and ESD seems to be working properly. If I try to play a sound using the music player or command line I get no errors, but I also get no sound. And yes, I have tripled checked that the volume is turned up. So if anyone has any ideas on this predicament I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
dpucsek
