Setting Internal vs. External Displays
 

I'm trying to setup my laptop so it's as easy to switch screens as windows, but I'm not sure (still a newb). Using Suse 10.1 with GNOME (Compaq v2000us-AMD Turion-ATI 200m).

Basically, at home, I want to use only the external screen at (1920x1200), but when I'm mobile, I want to use native 1280x768. This is easy to rotate screens in Windows by hitting my FN+F4 buttons

I don't need both screen displaying at the same time. The only way I can figure to use the external screen right now is to clone the screens, but unfortunately, I watch videos and the screen overlay only shows on the laptop screen (not the external). I've already installed the ATI driver, but their config isn't very helpful right now either.

Is there multiple xorg.conf files I can set, and have a different one load at boot with GRUB? Or is there something I can do so FN+F4 rotates through different profiles? I'm looked up other posts, and there seems a lot I can do if I want to extend my desktop across both screens, but not really one or the other.
