seeking go-nogo performance test for virtualization

So I have these computers, all of which are running some flavor of Linux.
Is there some go-nogo test utility that will indicate whether my
cpu+cores+ram+drives+whatever have enough "horsepower" to run
one of the virtualization suites?

All of my systems are multi-core something. They all dual boot with
some flavor of win-dose XP/pro. I want to run win-dose in a
virtual machine running on linux and forget the dual boot. I'm
tired of the win-files vs. linux-files juggling for the few things
I must run under win-dose -- mostly online school course downloads.

Thanks,
~~~ 0;-Dan
If your CPU has two or more cores and you have 2 GB or more of RAM, I think you'll be just fine.
