Screen Resolution

How do I change the screen resolution from 800 x 600 to 1024 x 768?

It is a Dell Latitude CPt 400 notebook computer running Red Hat Linux 9.0. Somewhere in there is a statement that requires this change. I do not know what file and directory contain this statement.

Ralph - Simultaneously pressing Ctl and Alt and the numeric + symbol on the keypad will toggle your machine through its various resolution settings. You may not need to change any settings. Likewise, you can go to System Settings -> Display to change the resolution. You'll need to restart X for the new resolution to take effect. -- J.W.
