i have just installed suse 10.0 on my sony vaio vgn-bx196xp. everything seemed to be fine right until the very last minute. it recognized ethernet card, wireless card, video card and everything. but my monitor was not in the list of the choices (which is wxga x-black lcd), but i kept on with the installation anyway with the default setting (which was i think vesa). the installation finished successfully, but right after that, the screen went black.
now whenever i boot suse, the screen goes black right after the screen where it checks the hardware components,after that i can hear the sounds of loading but there is nothing to see.

can anyone help me with that problem, since i cannot see anything i cannot configure config files too.

any kinda help will be appreciated...

sounds like the video driver is wrong -

if you have an nvidia card, you can try the "nv" driver. Im not sure what you would use if you have an ati card.
