After much fiddling with various laptop proposals and being tired of hauling my T61 around I finally pulled the trigger on the $249 samsung chromebook. There appears to be little issue converting it to a linux netbook equivalent (with a nice keyboard I might add). I was torn between the samsung 3 and acer c7 (the infamous $199 chromebook), but the embarrassingly short battery life on the acer was simply not going to do for my purposes.
Before I begin the dev mode antics however, I figured that I should ask a question or two:
1. Is Chrubuntu still the most ideally suited distro for the job? It seems many distros are working on the chromebook platform, but googling has yielded mixed reviews.
2. Can I squeeze both linux and chrome onto the tiny SSD, or will I need to use an SD card for my install (rather than just storage)? Again, mixed results on google. Some guides claim linux belongs entirely on the SD card. Others place just one partition there... etc.
Also, tips or advice in-general from those with chromebook linux experience would be appreciated.
