Screen configuration problem with Mandrake 9.1/Packard Bell laptop

I've installed Mandrake 9.1 on my Packard Bell iGo5561 laptop and I have a problem with displaying on the TFT.

The screen is shifted to the right, leaving a 4 pixel column of unused pixels to the left (and of course hiding some of the graphics to the right).

The laptop has an S3 Twister K graphics card, and I'm using the driver for the Savage4 card and the (standard?) 'Flat Panel 1024x768' resolution.

Why is the screen shifted?
