Running X in RH9 on a laptop
ok, my father was so impressed with rh9 on my machine that he decided to upgrade one of his laptops to it. No sweat install. Then, as expected, X couldnt start. I THINK i've heard/seen tell of some tweak or issue with running linux on laptops (particularly new ones)
I've checked linux-on-laptops.org, nothing for me there I;ve searched the forum and couldnt really find my answer...always try linux google... so once again to you, LQ! |

What you should do is that mark down the vedio card name, then go to this site to check if redhat 9 can be compatible with it:
http://www.redhat.com/hcl If it can be comapitable with RH 9. Then you should run this as root at console: redhat-config-xfree86 Then you can configure the Xwindow. Good luck |
dead link, I'll find it though...

dont matter, my dad fixed it himself late last night (i had MCAS, couldnt stay up to take claim in some glory) lol
