Roadster runs Debian but not Red Hat

I have a AMS Roadster laptop that will run Debian (kernel 2.2 and 2.4) fine but on Mandrake 9, Red hat 9, 8, 7.0, 6.2 all hang on the first boot after the install. All of them hang right after the ide detection.

The following is from Red hat 9

blk: queue c03944a0, IO limit 4095Mb (mask 0xffffffff)

after that it hangs.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be the issue The strangest part is that it loads that part fine in the installation.

Also, I made a RH9 boot disk and it did the same thing.

Any help would be appreciated!

Try installing JAMD Linux, it is based on Redhat 9, just to see if it will install completely.

Last year I had similar installation problems trying to install Mandrake 9 and RH 8 without luck. I haven't tried the latest versions.
