rh9 thinkpad
 

I recently got a thinkpad t30 P4 M 2.0Ghz with 256MB of RAM.
I am thinking about upgrading to win xp pro and dual booting it with RH 9. does anyone think its worth for me going through the trouble of putting xp pro when win2kpro is there?
any opinions on whether to put RH8 or 9? is it that big a difference? advice would be great. thanx.

I would suggest you identify as many of the devices as possible and check how well they are supported by rh9. A risk free way of checking things out would be to pop in a knoppix cd and boot it. In my opinion no one has better hardware detection and auto-configuration than knoppix. It's not redhat based, but it should give you a good idea of whether any of the devices on that notebook are going to be trouble.
