Unhappy rh9 freezes after installation.

Hi everybody,

i installed win xp home and rh9 on it yesterday. when i reboot my system the grub screen apears and i choose rh9. while rh9 is loading, a message that says checking ochi1394 appears and my computer freezes.

so i tried to boot with my boot floppy and i typed at the prompt:
linux nofirewire

... then when it gets to:

checking for new hardware

it just freezes.

i tried to boot by typing linux nofirewire noprobe but this still doesn't work

i'm new to rh9. i really don't know what to do but i don't won't to give up either. somebody please help me (

Insert your RedHat 9 Disc 1 and restart your notebook. Now enter ' linux rescue nofirewire ' and press enter. Let it mount your OS installation. When you get to the prompt goto this directory. ' cd /mnt/sysimage/etc ' Type ' pico modules.conf ' Add a ' # ' symbol infront of your line that refers to the firewire " OHCI1394 or something like that ". Save and Exit. cd/ back to root and shutdown. Remove CD and start up normally.

If you need firewire, then I would either manually load the module, create a script for it, or load it at a later time in one of the rc files.
