Resolution out of whack!

Hi, I am running Mandrake 9.2 on a Toshiba Satellite-1415 laptop.

Here is the problem: Booting and using X is generally great. However, when I leave the computer unattended for awhile, my display first turns on the blank screen saver. Then, after 10 minutes, it goes into a "stand by" mode, as in it "turns off" until I move the mouse.

After moving the mouse and returning the display, my resolution is completely enlarged and magnified. Sometimes my mouse pointer disappears and I am forced to re-loggin to correct it.

Any ideas?
