Smile Request for your suggestion - netbook

Greetings

I am used to Linux Mint. Now I have one Acer laptop V5 121 with

AMD C-70 APU, with Radeon HD Graphics 1.0 Ghz
2 GB Ram
500 GB Hard Drive
Display 11.6"

Upgraded to windows 10 and it became very slow. Planning to install Linux.

Saw the following link
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compar..._distributions

Basically I need to use this netbook for surfing internet, VLC player to see tutorial, etc.

Linux Mint is not specified. I am not sure what should I use? Linux Mint with Xfce or LUbuntu or something else? 32 bit or 64 bit?

Request for your suggestion.

Thank you

I'd use Linux Mint Cinnamon myself for no better reason than I kinda like the Cinnamon desktop. But it comes down to what you like as to which DE you should use (within the obvious limitations of your CPU/Memory/Graphics). 64-bit IMO, even though you only have 2 GB ram, I simply prefer using 64-bit still. No real advantage to it, so it's not necessary, but I just like it.

Hi...

I clicked on your link and saw this. I'm guessing you saw something else.

You could try both the Xfce version and MATE and see how they work. I think Lubuntu and Zorin OS 9 Lite would also work nicely with your hardware. With only 2 GB's of memory, I would stick with 32 bit.

Regards...

ramsforums,

For your netbook I would recommend the 32 bit version of AntiX MX-14, which is lightweight and fast.
