I was recently left an acer laptop with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS installed.
I managed to change the password for access but when I try to do anything in terminal I do not have the former owners password (is this the root permission )
So how do I rename and or get the password ?
rename what? You don't need anyone elses password, to run things as root you'd run "sudo <whatever command you want to run>" and then enter YOUR password again. WTF would you reuse someone elses old installation though??
