Redhat 9 on IBM Thinkpad

Absolute Linux Beginner Here!!

I downloaded Redhat 9 from their website and installed it fine on the laptop. The only problem is, I can't get the PCMCIA card to work. It's a Psion Goldcard 10/100mbit ethernet card. I checked in the network setup and it recognised it as an SMC card but when I tried to activate it, it said that the cable wasn't connected!

Apologies for such a basic question, but am a bit stumped as to what to do now.

Me thinks I need to buy a Linux book, a bit different from the dreaded MS Windows with which I am so familiar!!

Thanks

your card shouldnt be a problem this is a good place for pcmcia info. give it a look and let us know if it doesnt help your problem and we'll go from there.
